Holiday Week of Giving
Erie Shores Healthcare, in partnership with HealthHub Solutions, is pleased to announce that 72 new Patient Integrated Bedside Terminals (IBTs) will be installed in patient rooms from November 15 to 24, 2023.
The current cyberattack will not have any impact on the rollout of these new IBT’s as they operate on a separate information system.
Installation during the first week will begin with cabling, setting up the infrastructure in the server room and the first distribution closet. Then deployment will occur in the order as follows, pending any COVID restrictions: 1 West 2 East and 2 West 2 Center/North 2 South Then any rooms that were previously in isolation.
HealthHub will work with the nursing staff/Charge Nurse at the unit to minimize disruption to patients and will let them know when installation will occur in their unit. During the week when installation occurs on a floor, there will be a service disruption of 1 to 2 days. Then in the patient rooms, installation will take about 15 to 30 minutes per bed. For those rooms that require drilling (e.g. rooms 208, 232, 252, 260, 262, 264, 265), it will take about 1 to 1.5 hours.
NEW PATIENT INTEGRATED BEDSIDE TERMINALS
Note that the service will be on “always connected”/free for patients while installation occurs in the rooms. Rental will be available for patients after installation starting Friday, November 24, 2023.
Enhanced Benefits: Brand new terminals and arms will be installed at every inpatient bed. The touch-screen terminals are equipped to provide new / additional Patient Connectivity Services including television programming, internet, internet radio, access to social media and streaming services, video calling, and iMD health library - all in one, modern unit attached to an easily mobile swing arm near the bedside; and Rental service capability provided directly at the bedside through the terminal or by telephone.

A HealthHub representative will also be conducting on-site demos after the installation. More information about this to follow later.
Resources will be available for staff on the units to support them in the event patients need assistance to use their terminal.
